1:24:01 Latonia Moore is incredible. She is unafraid of using chest voice and glottal attacks as true operatic singing must incorporate so, unlike the majority of the so called sopranos on the Met stage. With her amazing voice and technique, she is someone who gives me goosebumps and hope that operatic singing has not died yet.

This opera is a terrible interpretation of the source material. What a disappointment. The actors do have beautiful voices.

For all you haters out there, that wobble is called vibrato and that’s how opera is suppose to sound. It’s a result of a low larynx and a supported breath traveling through good vocal cord closure. Modern opera goers are just so use to having tight voices bring stuffed down their throats you don’t understand what opera is actually suppose to sound like 🥲

I personally knew the heroine in "A Coffin in Egypt." She was our Miss Clara in the community of Egypt, Texas and she not only taught and influenced me in the arts, but she loved the other children in the community, too. I remember her as a beautiful, classy, and loving lady; not how she was portrayed in the play and opera. She elevated the historical community of Egypt for many years until her death at 99 in the late seventies. She made us all better people. Her husband, Mentor, had a great influence on me, too. Despite his flaws as a typical southern man of his generation, he was fair in business and taught the next generation the history of the community expecting us to carry on. I tried to nominate Miss Clara as "Poet Laureate of Texas" several years ago for her published poems in "The Long White Road," but deceased individuals cannot be nominated. This disappointed me because Miss Clara's poems are first rate and very professional. She was quite a unique person and one of her kind and should be remembered as a good person.

What a magnificent voice. One of thr best tenors to come along in decades. Reminds me of Giuseppe deStefano.
